4. Once you have your Toyota key fob battery replacement, place it inside of your key fob case and close it. 
5. Test out your Toyota key fob to ensure it’s working. If it doesn’t, open the case again and readjust the battery, making sure the connections are clean and they’re making contact with the battery. If the key fob still doesn’t work, you may need a Toyota key fob replacement. 

Broken Toyota Key Fob

If, in contrast, you’ve broken your Toyota key fob, there’s some different replacement options. Depending on the damage, you might be able to get a Toyota key fob replacement at your local San Carlos Toyota service center. An on-site technician can cut you a new key and you’ll be able to continue using your existing key fob.

If the key fob case is broken but the electronics are still working, then you’ll be able to save money by ordering a replacement case. This also depends on how available the case is and your Toyota dealer. If however, it’s been exposed to water or more severe physical damage, you’re going to need a full Toyota key fob replacement.
